Good News, Bad News
Good news! The hammer is going to face the gavel.
Bad news: It will harder to make an issue of supposedly law and order Reichert dependence upon DeLay's tainted fund raising. Expect to see the campaign fund converted to a defense fund and DeLay to mount the most expensive legal defense ever.

Too Bad Cindy Didn't Follow My Advice
I knew she would be arrested by the fascist military war criminal regime known as Bush. I just wish the Gold Star Mother had been carrying an apple pie with her when Bush's jackboot stomped on her. No headline could have resisted the lede of Bush arresting motherhood and apple pie.

The first meeting Bush will hold after millions of people displaced in Texas, his supposed home state? He will meet with the Energy Department to hear the status of oil refineries.

No Tough Questions There
Andrea Mitchell's load of tripe mistakenly titled Talking Back... devotes 11 pages to Whitewater and 1 page to WMD in Iraq. This Republican hack is supposedly not afraid of asking tough questions. You have blood on your hands, Mrs. Greenspan.

I hadn't noticed it but Google is putting an ad on their results for the search to Miserable Failure that explains to people what Google bombing is.
Idiot Democratic Senate Leadership
Once again, the rollover Democrats give Bush a free pass. This time they confirm longtime rightwing ideologue short time judge as Supreme Court Chief Justice. They pledge to fight the next ideologue that Bush appoints. Idiots. That next right wing ideologue will be Abu Gonzalez which the Republicans will create as a wedge issue for Hispanics.
I wonder how many black people killed by Bush in New Orleans were originally thrilled by his appointments to the Secretary of State Office?

Loading the family into the SUV doesn't always work for evacuations either.
Some didn't have cars. Some had cars but couldn't find gas. Some found gas but burned it all up while sitting for 12 hours or more on jammed Interstate 45, the primary evacuation route north from Houston and Galveston.

Atrios links to the Washington Post article about the suspicious timing of Sen. Frist dumping his stock before a bad earnings report. Let's see what the Senator has to say about profiting from insider knowledge. From his site at frist.senate.gov:
I am equally troubled that someone would sell a book, trading on their former service as a government insider with access to our nation’s most valuable intelligence, in order to profit...

NY Times to Lay Off 500 It Wasn't Thirty Or So
Information Week pulls a number out of nowhere.
Embarassment? Embarassment? Like playing a guitar while thousands of American citizens died of thirst, that kind of embarassment? Google shouldn't be embarassed; they look damn prescient.
Actually, googlebombing Bush is nothing new. The most recent embarrassment for Google? Type "failure" into the Google search field.
...
In late 2003, for instance, 30 or so sites with the phrase "miserable failure" linked to the same bio page

They say odd results
I think they are cogent results. Google got complaints because when people thought about Katrina they searched failure and got the Miserable Failure's home page. By the way, these guys have it wrong. There are not just a few hundred links to the Master of Disaster.

I understand when a bomb delivered in Baghdad by a car from 50 feet away that it is terrorism.
But when a bomb is delivered in Baghdad by a cruise missile from miles away it is not terrorism but is part of Shock and Awe. From CBS News, Jan 24,2003, thousands of lives and billions of dollars ago:

Rice placed terrorism at the head of her list. Appealing for adoption of a comprehensive convention on terrorism, she said there could be no definition of terrorism that excludes from condemnation any group that harms innocent civilians.
It is better to go bankrupt under the old law. They have the added bonus that they can steal their employees pension accounts blind. Moving The Goalposts
Keeping American troops in Iraq to prevent civil war is no longer operative. What will be the new Bushco reason? American troops' homes have been destroyed because flood protection plans in America have been gutted to fund the war in Iraq so the troops have no reason to come back?
A Generous Offer - Part II
There are many methodologies one can use to determine the best timetable for bringing America's troops back home from Iraq. We can consult astrologists. While extremely popular it might be hard to defend.
We could consult primary election calendars. For example, we could bring New Orlean's National Guard home before their city or state primary. Of course, this would look political so we don't do that.
I will happily include, at no extra charge, in my generous offer to get America out of Bush's quagmire for $1 billion an opinion poll of American troops to find out when they would like to come back home. My American withdrawal timetable from Iraq will follow their wishes. I cannot think of a better way to support our troops than to get them home when they ask especially because it was lies that sent them there in the first place.

For only one billion, ($1,000,000,000) I will offer to broker a deal between the US and Iraq. Considering that the US is spending nearly $2 billion a week I think this is a fair fee for brokering a deal and it is less money than Cheney's Halliburton can't account for.
Americans want out of Iraq. Iraqis want America out of Iraq. I believe I can find some middle ground such as, for example, offering to get America out of Iraq.
All sides will agree the only thing lacking is a timetable and I will create one. A timetable is all that is needed. How do I know? Simple. It is the only thing Bush is refusing to do. Therefore, logic dictates, it is the best thing to do.

It is as simple as that
People I respect have suggested resignation and a recall election for driving incompetent nincompoop George Bush out of office. Resignation presupposes an honorable character and recall presupposes a Constitutional Amendmendent in the next few years. Impeachment is the only course we have to remove the bumbling idiot. The downside is, of course, it leaves Darth Cheney in charge. The Impeach Bush Coaltion explains why this is a necessary evil.

Presidential Reflexes

Today he is defending our freedom as a reservist with the 3rd Battalion 25th Marine Regiment in Iraq. (Applause.)
Contrary to First-Draft's premise, I think the second draft of this item is better.
Every four years, America chooses a leader. This choice is based on the collective hunches, predilections and prejudices of millions of Americans who vote. While not perfect, judging from the results over the last 200 hundred years, it has been a damn good system. This system worked well until 2000 when George Bush filed a frivolous lawsuit. By all accounts, when all votes are counted, Al Gore won the election in 2000. Racist Rehnquist and four other anti-democracy Supreme Court judges decided the people didn't know best and stopped the counting in Florida while Bush was ahead (if they had stopped it a few hours earlier, Gore was ahead). When all votes were counted, Gore won Florida.
Except for Racist Rehnquist and the Supreme Court's interference in a democratic election the American system would have worked. For evidence, I offer the disaster in New Orleans. Of the two candidates, of which one won the popular vote and would have won the electoral vote if the Supreme Court hadn't indulged in unAmerican, anti-democratic, activist judicial activities, whom would you rather have in charge of the federal government? Whose Presidential reflexes were better?
Bush strummed a guitar while New Orleans needed his help.
Gore arranged for emergency evacuation at his own expense.
Americans' votes unfettered 5 years ago made the right decision. In the first few days after the disaster who was more Presidential? The guitar strummer or the policy dweeb?
Rot in hell, Rehnquist.

It turns out I was the first in blogtopia (yes, Skippy invented that term!) to call Bush, the Master of Disaster. For the irony impaired, it was in a purely cynical, snarkish way referring to how Bush can turn anything into a disaster.

Democrats, now is your chance. My only gauge is the number of referrals from Snopes. People find me via Snopes because of a certain Googlebomb and it directs them to here. My conclusion is, based on the recent uptick in activity, more and more people are thinking "Miserable Failure"
WooHoo! Wikipedia Lists Me
Wikipedia tentatively credits me with the creation of the Miserable Failure Googlebomb. Snopes did long ago. Even the NY Times did. Twice. More importantly, Stranger from Blah3, who because of his tenacious promotion of the bomb, many thought started it, credited me. I had the idea, but if MediaWhoresOnline hadn't linked to me, you would have never heard of it.
President Gore
Shouldn't the American people overturn the ruling by the racist Rehnquist that installed Presidential election loser George Bush over 2000 Presidential victor Al Gore? For instance, while Bush was strumming the guitar...
Al Gore helped airlift some 270 Katrina evacuees... at his own expense.

7. It makes the Southerners forget Bush is from Connecticut.
6. The guitar playing makes suicide bombers keep their distance.
5. Bush wasn't strumming; Bush was trying to milk it.
4. Bush had time to kill while they loaded up Air Force One with food and water for his trip back to Crawford.
3. Bush needed to look busy. Cheney thinks idle hands are the devil's workshop.
2. No one could anticipate that the photo-op would backfire.
And now, for the number one reason Bush played a guitar while the people of New Orleans were dying:
1. Bush doesn't know how to fiddle.
