Can We Impeach The Bush Junta Now?
From cursor, we are directed to Sen. Feingold's A Fact Check on a Presidential Crime.

Big News
The aluminum tube story was fake and used to be evidence for Bush's illegal, immoral invasion. Too bad we couldn't have known except for we did. WaPo published the aluminum tubes story in 2002.

Isn't That A Timetable?
Bush has vowed no reduction of American troops before his term in office ends. So... we can't remove troops from Iraq until Bush resigns or is impeached or Al Gore's term expires.

So... when exactly do the impeachment proceedings begin?

Now That Milosevic Is Dead
There is room for Rumsfeld in the Hague. Why exactly? The man who ordered bombings of hospitals which is not only a war crime during hostilities but is also considered extremely bad form when it is the hospitals of the country you are occupying.*

No one ever questioned Rumsfeld's decisions to commit war crimes. No one ever questioned why Rumsfeld was so keen to bomb buildings that his company Bechtel would get $40 million no bid, cost plus contracts for each hospital Rumsfeld destroyed.

* Bonus question: How in the hell could America ever become an occupying power?

I Don't Think That Word Means What You Think It Means
McCain about New Orleans: "You cannot appreciate the enormity of it until you see it."

Was it a Freudian slip? People often say enormity when they mean large. However, ironically, when describing Bush and New Orleans, enormity, which means extremely evil, is probably the best way to describe Bush robbing New Orleans of its levee rebuilding money to bomb Iraq.

Blows Against The Empire
Blah3 notes that Google is going to be ordered to turn over a sample of searches and web page addresses to the Bush junta. I humbly suggest one of the terms that should be included is Miserable Failure.

As always, Bush has it backwards. Bush and Abu Gonzalez believe American citizens' privacy should be invaded without warrants and that public policy decisions like Cheney's meetings with oil executives leading up to the Iraq invasion should be private.

Watertiger Says It Best
We are talking to you Sen. Cantwell, to you and all of the other Bush enablers. He can't commit his crimes without your assent. Why the hell are you going along for the ride?

It Will Take A Few Months For The Media To Catch On
There will be several Democratic primaries that the challenger with a strong anti-Bush position will score an upset over the Democratic incumbent Bush enabler. There will also be several anti-Bush Democrats that will win an otherwise Republican district (except in areas serviced by Diebold and other Republican led voting companies). However, Democrats will not be able to take control of either the House or Senate because the close races will be decided by black box voting.

It is no accident that all of the close races in the upcoming November election will be decided in favor of Republicans. I have no link or proof to back up that statement but I will be able to link back to this post to say I told you so. Not to taunt you but to make you stop dead in your tracks and wonder how could I, a mere computer programmer, predict this 8 months in advance.

It's Not Mayberry RFD
Sue Rahr, Rep. Reichert's handpicked successor to his sherrif's job, is managing to make both herself and Reichert look bad. There was the bad cop who was kept on the payroll. There was the good cop who was fired. There was a possibly falsified accident report when a deputy ran into another car. Now this headline: Off-duty cop terrified teen

Sue Rahr's campaign web site:
Keeping our families safe and secure while maintaining the public trust is job one.
Yeah, right.

In Cold Blood
A tale of senseless killing of innocent people by two men caught up in their power. It could be Truman Capote's book about two cons in Kansas or it could be James Wolcott's post about Bush and Blair.

Could they have done it if one had been without the other?

Chilling Thought Of The Day
If Nixon had FISA he wouldn't have needed to break into the Democratic headquarters and Watergate wouldn't have happened. Looking back at 2004, isn't it funny how Rove always seemed to be a step ahead of Kerry's campaign?

Today's Question
Is Katrina the blow job that can get Bush impeached?

Bush And Ethnic Cleansing
The tape showing Bush not caring about the levees breaking and killing thousands of people adds credence to the theory that Republicans wanted Louisiana's Democratic stronghold dispersed and thus making LA a more likely win in the Republican column. Seeing how cold the heartless bastard is about other people's lives also adds credence that he let 9/11 happen. The Bush junta did need their Reichstag.
