Our Tax Dollars at Work
Bush's Mouthpiece on June 22,2004
It's important that we let those investigations proceed and that we take a comprehensive look at the prison system to make sure that there are no systemic problems. That's what the President believes.

Red Cross inspectors had reported abuses in previous visits. But those alleged in the new report are said to have been more refined and repressive than what was observed in the past.

Alabama and "Moral Values"
"There are competing theories about the defeat of Amendment 2, the measure that would have taken "colored children" and segregated schools out of Alabama's constitution."

Would one of those theories be that the "moral values" crowd is as racist as hell?

Food For Wingnuts
Kofi Annan's son made $30,000 a year from a company that was involved in Iraq's Oil for Food. Dick Cheney is expected to blast Annan saying it isn't right for officials to even have the appearance of corruption.

Biggest Threat to Bush
Saddam Hussein. Mr. Spider Hole can lodge a grievance with the International Court of Justice charging Bush with war crimes. Abu Gharib isn't going to be Bush's best defense. Collective punishment of Fallujah isn't going to be Bush's best defense. Getting other countries to excuse the US from the same standards that other countries are held to seems to be the strategy Bush is pursuing. Now that Saddam's trial run by Chalabi's nephew is no longer needed for the election I expect "death by natural causes" to be induced within a month or two.

Remarks Sent to JFK Reloaded Creators
The assholes who made the assasinaton simulation requested feedback so I tore them a new one.
Your software is not only offensive and morally reprehensible but as a scientific endeavor it is totally worthless. Your simulation was set up with parameters that "prove" your thesis. A thesis that is totally contrary to the known operating characteristics of the Mannlicher-Carcano bolt action rifle. The Warren Commission could not get any marksmen, marksmen who scored better and faster than Oswald, to fire the 3 shots within the time that the Zapruder film shows they were fired. This also ignores the audio analysis done by the House Committee on Assasinations which showed 5 shots were fired that day.

Death, Destruction and Mayhem In Iraq
Cheney's Halliburton and Bush's Carlyle Group sell more ammo and equipment.

Am I the only one rude enough to ask? How much money do Cheney and Bush make off of every dead American soldier and blown up American military vehicle?

Third Largest Vote Getter In America Vows To Fight For Women's Rights
Negotiators Add Abortion Clause to Spending Bill
The provision could affect millions of American women, according to Senator Barbara Boxer, Democrat of California, who warned Friday that she would use procedural tactics to slow Senate business to a crawl if the language was not altered.
"I am willing to stand on my feet and slow this thing down," Ms. Boxer said. "Everyone wants to go home, I know that, and I know I will not win a popularity contest in the Senate. But they should not be doing this. On a huge spending bill they're writing law, and they're taking away rights from women."

I bet you didn't know Sen. Boxer was the third highest vote getter on Nov 2nd. Only Kerry and Bush got more votes and she did it without a crooked brother running the elections.

Just What America Needs - Another California "Actor" Running for President.
Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said Friday that foreign-born citizens should be allowed to run for president, a reform that would require amending the Constitution.
Albright said foreign-born candidates would still have to meet certain requirements. "I think there has to be some very long period of time that somebody has lived in the U.S.," she said.
Madeleine Not So Bright didn't say whether smearing oil over his body, groping women in elevators and "fixing" California's debt crisis by borrowing more money should also be considered requirements.

Yet Another Bush Flip-Flop
In the debates before the election - BUSH:
He's just not credible when he talks about being fiscally conservative. He's just not credible. If you look at his record in the Senate, he voted to break the caps -- the spending caps -- over 200 times.

Another Pretext for Invasion Falls to the Wayside
White House Fact of the Day, Jan 21, 2004
Iraq's Mass Graves
Iraq Fact of the Day
Identifying the remains of over one million missing Iraqis will bring comfort to their families, promote reconciliation, and help develop a new system of justice in Iraq. Some 50 mass graves containing hundreds of thousands of bodies have been identified. The Iraqi Human Rights Ministry is spearheading efforts to identify remains in the graves and collect evidence for future prosecutions. There is another effort to create a bureau of missing persons to centralize information on those killed under Saddam Hussein's regime.

Coalition Provisional Authority Briefing from Iraq Feb 5, 2004
We don't track -- we don't have the capability to track all the civilian casualties for any number of reasons.

New York Times Rewrites Fallujah History - Nov 16, 2004
Other journalistic investigations depict the reality of widespread civilian death in Fallujah: An Associated Press tally of the dead in Iraq (4/30/04) discovered that in Fallujah "two football fields were turned into cemeteries, with hundreds of freshly dug graves, marked with wooden planks scrawled with names -- some with names of women, some marked specifically as children. At one of the fields, an AP reporter was told by volunteer gravediggers on April 11 that more than 300 people had been buried there." A Reuters report (4/13/04) quoted researchers from Human Rights Watch calling for an investigation based on reports they received from residents fleeing the violence in Fallujah.

Good Night, I am going to bed now
Study Links Sleep Deprivation, Obesity
It seems "somewhat counterintuitive" that sleeping more would prevent obesity because people burn fewer calories when they're resting, Gangwisch said.
But they also eat when they're awake, and the effect of chronic sleep deprivation on the body's food-seeking circuitry is what specialists think may be making the difference in obesity risks.

Language as a Weapon Part 1
Iraqi insurgent bombs delivered by a car 20 feet from its target? Indiscriminate.
American high explosive bombs deliverd by a plane from thousands of feet away(but with a 80 foot or greater blast radius)? Surgical.
(Obligatory troll shield) I am not in favor of Iraqi insurgents' bombing of civilians any more than I am in favor of George "Murderous" Bush's bombings of civilians. I will use really small words for those of you from FreeRepublic or LittleGreenSnotballs. When it comes to bombs, blast radius is a key factor. One of the reason nuclear bombs have the scaring power they do is because their blast radius is miles. Depenindg on the amount and king of explosive (Iraqi insurgents having better quality explosives thanks to Bush's inattention to detail.) Whether you are a car bomber or a US Air Force bomber targeting a hospital, I believe both are morally reprehensible. (Smaller word for Southerners who voted overwhelmingly against their own interest for Bush: reprehensible=evil.)

Fuck Moral Values
Bush didn't win because of moral values. He carried the South for one reason and one reason only. Bush has no compunction at murdering brown people. Especially if it can be done "surgically" with high explosives.

Excuse me, is this Room 101?
I know we are supposed to have short memories. That is why the Memory Hole was invented. However, I recall that Bush excused his lying about the intelligence about Iraq having WMD. First he said it was darn good intelligence and then Bush flip-flopped and said it was an intelligence failure. (Insert obvious joke here.)

Everyone, Sen. John McCain, Judith "I believe everything Iran spy Ahmed Chalabi tells me" Miller, Cheney, Blair, Bush are all pushing the intelligence failure story. Ok, it's a free country, they are allowed to lie (spin) their failures as someone else's. After all, Bush is infallible, just ask him. That bullshit is annoying me but that isn't what has really, deeply angered me.

What is crazy beyond belief is Porter Goss. The man Republicans swore would clean up the intelligence failures and do it in a non-partisan way. Porter Goss's first act as CIA Director? Fire everyone who cast doubt on the mistaken intelligence that Bush used to justify his crimes against humanity.

Military Criticizes Bush
General Praises Speed of Fallujah Assault
Privately, U.S. military officials say April's assault was botched by the Bush administration which forced the Marines to attack with insufficient forces on just a week's notice and then called off the assault before the city was taken.

Helen Thomas - A Great American
Attack on Fallujah can't be justified
Do Americans of good conscience really believe that we are making the United States more secure by bombing and killing the people of Fallujah?
That's the justification President Bush and his hawkish circle have given for their brutal offensive against the Sunni stronghold as they push ahead for the total military occupation of Iraq.
Why are we killing Iraqis in their own country? And why are our forces being killed?
Are you listening Senators Cantwell, Murray, Boxer and Feinstein? Can you please stop voting for Bush's war crimes? Of all US Senators, you four have the least to worry about Republican backlash and yet you vote for Bush's broken policies time and again. Stop it!

Opposing Bush
As it turns out opposing Bush on any subject turns out to be the morally correct and responsible position even when it is just a blind reactionary position. A few examples - global warming, Iraq war, No Child Left Behind, Healthy Forests - need I go on? Democrats are now debating whether or not they should confirm AG Alberto "Abu Gharib" Gonzalez because he is Hispanic. His ancestry should not play into this decision. If it was Ashcroft who had written the "Why we should torture brown people" memos would we even be discussing a vote for him? Why should we give Bush's architect of torture a free pass?

Bush Spends Political Capital And Then Some
U.S. to Allow Some Telemarketing 'Robo Calls'
Telemarketers will be able to use prerecorded "robo calls" to stay in touch with established customers starting next week -- at least for the short term, U.S. regulators said Friday.
If voters had known this was part of the Bush mandate I don't think King George could have even carried Texas.

Cry Me A River
Ashcroft Condemns Judges Who Question Bush
"Courts are not equipped to execute the law. They are not accountable to the people," Ashcroft said.
How do you like that for tortured logic? The man who was instrumental in throwing away 200 years of due process and still couldn't get any terrorist convictions wants to talk about accountablity?
Hey, Johnnie, I hope the door hits you real hard on the backside on your way out.

New Investment Opportunity
Go to a coastal town, preferably one with a gradual slope up from the ocean. Find land that is currently not waterfront property that is 4 feet above sea level. Buy it and your grandchildren will have ocean front property in the year 2100.

American Taliban Wins A "Moral" Victory
Druggists refuse to give out pill
For a year, Julee Lacey stopped in a CVS pharmacy near her home in a Fort Worth suburb to get refills of her birth-control pills. Then one day last March, the pharmacist refused to fill Lacey's prescription because she did not believe in birth control.
My guess is the Republicans are okay with that. What if the pharmacist had refused to fill Bob Dole's Viagra prescription?

America's "Moral" "President" At Work
Bush's morals at work A boy recovers in a Fallujah hospital after a U.S. airstrike in Fallujah.

My Proposal For The Democratic Tax Plan
My tax plan to resuscitate the Democrats is no Federal Income tax for anyone earning less than $40,000 ($80,000 for couples filing jointly)

Social Security can easily be saved by getting rid of the artificially low ceiling. Why should someone earning $78,000 pay the same amount of Social Security tax as someone "earning" $250,000 a year? While we are at it, why should dividends, capital gains and inheritance taxes be exempt from Social Security?

What Is That Sound You Hear?
Poll: Voters Relieved by Decisive Election
The poll taken in the days following the election also found that voters want Bush to cut the deficit, which ballooned under his watch, rather than pushing for more tax cuts.
The voters' concerns stood in contrast to the priorities Bush cited after he defeated Democrat John Kerry...
So what is that sound you hear? That is the sound of 55 million voters slapping their hands against their foreheads in the universal sign for "idiots".

Bush's New Morality In Action
Evangelicals Say They Led Charge For the GOP
As the presidential race was heating up in June and July, a pair of leaked documents showed that the Bush-Cheney reelection campaign was urging Christian supporters to turn over their church directories and was seeking to identify "friendly congregations" in battleground states.
Those revelations produced a flurry of accusations that the Bush campaign was leading churches to violate laws against partisan activities by tax-exempt organizations, and even some of the White House's closest religious allies said the campaign had gone too far.
Yeehaw! Nothing like breaking tax and electioneering laws to further one's morality agenda.

Rove Pats Himself on the Back
Rove speaks out on Bush's win
"Would I like to see the Republican Party be the dominant party for whatever time history gives it the chance to be? You bet."
He probably had to stop himself from saying "a thousand year Reich."

The Unbearable Sadness
Ever since my tribute to soldiers killed by IEDs, weapons that insurgents in Iraq got because of Bush's inattention to detail to things like Al Qaqaa and a lack of a postwar plan, my site has gotten search hits from people looking up the names of the fallen. My heart goes out to them. Their loss knows no bounds. My sadness deepens because there is nothing I can say to comfort them. They suffer from a double whammy; their loved ones not only died for Bush's lies but if Bush hadn't lied, their loved ones would still be alive.

Steal It Once, Shame On You
Evidence of a Second Bush Coup?
Theoretically at least, it is conceivable that sophisticated CIA-style computer hacking – known as “cyber-warfare” – could have let George W. Bush’s campaign transform a three-percentage-point defeat, as measured by exit polls, into an official victory of about the same margin.

Earth To Christians Who Thought Bush Was "The Moral Choice"
A real hot issue for the fundies was that stone bigger than a SUV on former Judge Moore's courthouse lawn. I wish while they were standing around protesting its removal they could have read

The Ten Commandments

  1. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me.

  2. You shall not make for yourself a graven image. You shall not bow down to them or serve them.

  3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

  4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

  5. Honor your father and your mother.

  6. You shall not kill.

  7. You shall not commit adultery.

  8. You shall not steal.

  9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

  10. You shall not covet.

With #7 it might be a twofer - it appeared he had the hots for a man!

Holy Amoral Crap!
Bev Harris has evidence of voting computer hacking. They are pursuing a Freedom of Information Request which isn't free. I am sending them a check tomorrow.

It Pays To Know Trivia
Wingnuts are claiming that Bush has a mandate because he got more votes than Reagan got in his 1984 landslide. As it turns out, John Kerry also got more votes than Ronald Reagan did in 1984.

If they ever count all the votes, I am sure we will find that Kerry got more than Bush in Ohio and New Mexico and maybe even Florida.

Moral Values is a McGuffin
A Republican pollster asked a bunch of questions until he found one that Bush scored high on (because he was losing the terra, terra, terra all the time vote). The day after the election we are told the issue that won it for Bush was morality.

I call bullshit. If this was an issue then why wasn't John Kerry asked at the debates, "Why are you in favor of immorality?" If this was an issue why wasn't Bush asked, "Why are you more moral than John Kerry?"

I would really like to hear how exactly the coke-snorting, deserter, drunken driving convicted, lied us into war, election stealing, bombed the women and children who were not behind 9/11, Republican candidate for President was the "moral candidate?"

Bush Calls For Unity and Healing
Privatizing the Vote:
Congressman Rush Holt introduced a bill into Congress requiring a voter-verified paper ballot be produced by all electronic voting machines, and it's been co-sponsored by a majority of the members of the House of Representatives. The two-year battle fought by Dennis Hastert and Tom DeLay to keep it from coming to a vote, thus insuring that there will be no possible audit of the votes of about a third of the 2004 electorate.

What better way to promote healing than to make sure we are a functioning democracy? Because the Republicans couldn't win then.

qWagmire Accomplished
Human Rights Watch said Thursday
that the failure of coalition forces to act during last year's invasion meant crucial evidence for the trials of Saddam and other officials has probably been lost or seriously tainted.

News You Won't Read in Bush's Paid For Media
Kerry Won. You know it, I know it. The news whores who were trying to ingratiate themselves with Kerry the day before the election knew it. The exit polls knew it.
Already, the election-bending effects of spoilage are popping up in the election stats, exactly where we'd expect them: in heavily Hispanic areas controlled by Republican elections officials. Chaves County, in the "Little Texas" area of New Mexico, has a 44 percent Hispanic population, plus African Americans and Native Americans, yet George Bush "won" there 68 percent to 31 percent.
I spoke with Chaves' Republican county clerk before the election, and he told me that this huge spoilage rate among Hispanics simply indicated that such people simply can't make up their minds on the choice of candidate for president. Oddly, these brown people drive across the desert to register their indecision in a voting booth.

Hey, Skull and Boners, not every vote was counted. Mission Accomplished!

Bush says, I'm #1!
Bush says. I'm #1

Why We Can't Find bin Laden
Because no one has searched the White House.

Just When You Thought It Couldn't Get Worse
Osama bin Laden makes play for Iraqi hearts and minds. The murderous cur will get it thanks to the duplicitous Bush.

Unity?
Bush wants unity while he is trying to fuck me and other hard working Americans in the ass? Fuck that shit. I don't want unity - I want justice. We aren't going to get it while that unelected monkey who can steal elections is squatting in America's White House.

Bush Promises More of the Same
Rich to get tax breaks; hard working, church going families to pay the bill. Southern voters who went solidly for Bush can take comfort in the fact that their children will die in a needless war in Iraq.

Lt. Columbo, Where are you?
Democracy was murdered last night in Ohio. Won't somebody please launch an investigation?

Hey Neworks! Quit Whoring for Bush
Crucial Ohio Hinges on Absentee Ballots
But the heavy voting also delayed a final count of crucial ballots: At least 54 counties still had some uncounted absentee votes.
I know an extended counting process doesn't make for riveting TV but making riveting TV isn't why we hold elections.

Also Iowa and New Hampshire are too close to call. Why do we let marginal states overinfluence Democratic Presidential primaries? People in Iowa who couldn't bother to vote for Kerry in the general knocked out Howard Dean in the caucus? People in New Hampshire would couldn't bother to deliver New Hampshire for Kerry knocked Dean out in the primary?

Florida Black Box Voting Shenanigans
Electronic Voting Machine Woes Reported
But there were also several dozen voters in six states — particularly Democrats in Florida — who said the wrong candidates appeared on their touch-screen machine's checkout screen, the coalition said.
In many cases, voters said they intended to select John Kerry (news - web sites) but when the computer asked them to verify the choice it showed them instead opting for President Bush (news - web sites), the group said.
Jeb Bush says there is nothing wrong with the machines and he plans to use them when he runs in 2008.

President of Diebold Keeps Promise
Diebold voting machines were promised to "deliver" Ohio for known election thief Bush. There are not actual ballots that can be checked. Voter suppresion tactics in Democcratic areas robbed Kerry of a million votes. Oliver Willis has more.

Another Kerry Omen?
11 months ago today, George W. Bush became the number 1 Google hit for Miserable Failure.

The Whole World Is Watching

Democracy must triumph, not fear

I think New York should scrap the plans for the new World Trade Center and build new towers that look like the old ones.

I think Bush and his evil twin Osama bin Laden, religious fundamentalists who are willing to kill for their crusades and jihads should be relegated to the dustbin of history.

I think Kerry winning will be a blessing and a curse. Kerry will be a blessing to stop the madness and a curse because he will be blamed for all of Bush's failures as the multiple crises that Bush has started unfold. Bush has already run up the credit cards. Do we try to put our house in order now or four years from now when it will be worse?

U.S Sued For Stifling Free Speech
By an Iranian. I don't know about you but I think it is embarassing that the US is less tolerant of books than a Middle Eastern theocracy. Is this Iranian a Middle East terrorist? No, she is a Nobel prize winner. Nobel Laureate sues U.S. over publication
The lawsuit alleges the restrictions violate the First Amendment and declarations by Congress that U.S. trade embargoes may not be allowed to restrict the free flow of information and ideas.
I wonder if she will settle for the Crawford "ranch" if she wins.

Jeb Bush Thugs Strike Again
A U.S journalist was beaten and arrested in Florida. His crime? Taking pictures of people lined up to vote.
A sheriff's spokesman said later the deputy was enforcing a new county rule prohibiting reporters from interviewing or photographing voters lined up outside the polls, the Palm Beach Post said.
...
Her counterpart from Leon County, Ion Sancho, expressed outrage at the attempt to restrict reporters and photographers outside polling places, saying it was a constitutional right, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Le Pore's office had not announced the new rule before the incident

A crime to take pictures of people lined up to vote? What do you expect from the source of the butterfly ballot? For her community service for this crime let's send Le Pore to run the elections in Fallujah. I hear Fallujah is nice in January. Let's see how she likes an up close and personal view of Bush's qWagmire.
